    Hello from Inside!

This week, Insider featured translation/interpretation-related contents on iUniv’s top page.  As iUniv serves people who wants to study IN English (NOT study English), Insider thought it would be something to attract the users.

Insider found out that Monterey Institute of International Studies is renowned for nurturing language specialists.  3 out of 4 featured contents turned out to be from Monterey…  It was just a coincidence, but very interesting to know how the graduates are flourishing in high profile working fields such as the UN, Ministry of Defense in Japan, etc.

Insider was particularly impressed with this video:

    日英通訳者への10の質問 (10 Questions for a Japanese/English Interpreter)

Although Ms. Owatari seems to be an already established interpreter - her English is perfect and she has knowledge of international affairs - she still listens to iPod for shadowing practices and reads the Japan Times every day.  She never thinks that her skills/knowledge are enough and she is still learning.  That makes her staying cream of the crop (which Insider thinks she does not realize…  she is so humble) for such a long time.  Her sincere attitude to work is a wake-up call for Insider.
